- What actions are you taking to protect the planet?

I care deeply about our planet and constantly seek ways to minimize my environmental impact. Here are some of the measures I'm currently undertaking at S. Howell Studios:
- Embracing second hand items: I prioritize using second hand furniture, fixtures, and equipment throughout my studio. Even smaller items like hand towels and tools are sourced second hand whenever possible.

Yes! As of January 1st, 2023, S. Howell Studios is a certified member of 1% for the Planet and a minimum of one percent of all sales are donated to approved environmental partners. By being a part of this global network, I am committed to making a positive impact on our planet and contributing to the vital work being done to protect and preserve our environment.
- Do you use sustainable packaging?

Absolutely! Sustainability is a core value at S. Howell Studios, and I take great care in using sustainable packaging throughout the entire process.
The jewelry boxes, shipping boxes and tissue are all FSC certified, ensuring responsible sourcing of materials.
To further minimize environmental impact, the jewelry boxes use water based glue.
- Do you offer carbon neutral shipping?

Absolutely! At S. Howell Studios, I believe in taking responsibility for my environmental impact. That's why every package I send automatically includes carbon offsetting at no additional cost to you. I've partnered with Cloverly, a trusted company specializing in carbon offsetting, to calculate the offset cost based on package dimensions, weight and destination. The funds are then directed towards a range of carefully selected carbon offsetting projects. You can learn more about these projects here.
- Do you use recycled silver?

At S. Howell Studios, I am committed to sustainability and conscious sourcing. When I first launched in 2019, I proudly used predominantly recycled silver in my creations, with the exception of the chain. However, as the demand for recycled metals has increased in recent years, it has become more challenging for jewelry supply companies to guarantee 100% recycled silver products. While I cannot claim that all of the silver I use is recycled, I have carefully chosen suppliers who assure me that a significant portion of the silver they provide is recycled. I am dedicated to prioritizing sustainability and continue to make conscious choices in the materials I use for my jewelry.
- Do you use conflict free gold?

Ensuring ethical sourcing is of utmost importance to me. I exclusively use gold from trusted suppliers who are committed to responsible practices. The gold I use comes from reputable sources such as Rio Grande, known for their dedication to ethical sourcing, and Hoover & Strong's Harmony line, which offers traceable and fair-mined products. With these conscious choices, I strive to create jewelry that not only brings beauty, but also aligns with my values of sustainability and ethical craftsmanship.
- Is your jewelry made to order?

My work is lovingly handcrafted in small batches, ensuring attention to detail and minimizing waste. By intentionally avoiding overstocking and keeping a limited inventory, I make a conscious sustainability choice, creating only what is needed. While some pieces may be in stock and ready to ship, many are made to order to reduce unnecessary production.
Although most orders are completed and shipped within a few days to a week, please allow up to 3 weeks for your jewelry to be handcrafted.
If you need your piece(s) by a specific date or would like an estimate for how long it will take, contact me prior to placing your order. I'm here to assist you and make sure you receive your piece(s) in a timely manner.
- Do you make custom pieces?

While I don't offer full customization services, I am more than happy to accommodate certain modifications to my existing designs, allowing you to create a piece that feels uniquely yours. If you come across a design that resonates with you but envision some simple changes that would make it even more perfect, let's have a conversation! Here are some of the modifications I'm open to, although this list is not exhaustive:
- Adjusting the chain length
- Selecting different stone(s)
- Choosing a different earwire style
- Altering the orientation of a stone
Please note that depending on the materials and labor involved in the redesign, there may be an additional fee. However, in many cases, the cost remains similar to that of the original piece. Don't hesitate to reach out and share your ideas with me. Together, we can explore the possibilities.

All payments, with the exception of Paypal, are processed via Shopify… one of the most trusted payment gateways in the world. Shopify uses the highest level of encryption and data security to ensure your details are protected.
- Do you charge sales tax?

Only shipments going to an address in WY will be charged sales tax during checkout.
- How much is shipping?

I offer free shipping via USPS First Class Mail, regardless of your order's total value. If you'd prefer a different shipping carrier or faster delivery, I'm more than happy to explore alternative options for you. Please note that any additional shipping methods or carriers may incur extra charges, which will be the responsibility of the customer. Feel free to get in touch, and I'll gladly assist you in finding the best shipping solution to meet your needs.
- Do you ship internationally?

Currently, my website is set up to provide shipping within the United States only. However, if you're interested in international shipping, please reach out to me with your shipping address. I'll be happy to assist you in determining if shipping is possible and provide you with the associated cost.
